Rights & Democracy health care leader, Mary Gerisch, talks about why the Green Mountain Care Board vacancy should be filled by someone who will be a voice for the interests of everyday Vermonters in need of health care. The vacancy should be filled by someone who supports the Board's mission (as set out in Act 48) to ensure universal access to and coverage for high-quality, medically necessary health services for all Vermonters. Therefore Rights & Democracy is circulating a petition urging the Senate to reject the nomination of Tom Pelham, who has been a voice for more health care austerity, to a vacancy on the Green Mountain Care Board.
